State gives Grove Park apartment development major boost

The Georgia Department of Community Affairs has awarded the Grove Park Foundation and its partner, Columbia Residential, 9 percent Low Income Housing Tax Credits to build a new 110-unit, mixed-income, multi-family housing development. The residential development is part of a larger neighborhood revitalization strategy for Grove Park, which also includes initiatives in education, community wellness and financial empowerment in partnership with Grove Park residents. Grove Park is part of the Purpose Built Communities network.

PGA Tour Championship donates largest amount in tournament history

The PGA Tour Championship donated a tournament record of “just over $3 million” to local nonprofits, according to an announcement this week. Proceeds from the tournament primarily benefit the East Lake Foundation and other local nonprofits, such as the Grove Park Foundation, Purpose Built Schools Atlanta and The First Tee of Atlanta, an international youth golf development organization.
