The East Lake Foundation Honors Tom and Ann Cousins at Inaugural Party on the Green Event

The East Lake Foundation will host the inaugural Party on the Green event on April 29, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. at the historic East Lake Golf Club. This signature event, proudly presented by The Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation, will honor the legacy of the East Lake Foundation’s founders Tom and Ann Cousins. Their vision and dedication to holistic community revitalization has renewed hope, opportunity and possibility for countless families in Atlanta’s East Lake community and in other neighborhoods in cities across the country.

Party on the Green will transport attendees back to the Roaring Twenties for one night where they will enjoy the incredible jazz sounds of the Joe Gransden Band and classic handcrafted cocktails created by master mixologists.

Proceeds from Party on the Green will benefit the East Lake Foundation’s Early Childhood Education Initiative. This includes support for the East Lake Early Learning Academy, Sheltering Arms East Lake, and the Cox Pre-K Program at Charles R. Drew Charter School, all integral partners in East Lake’s cradle-to-college education pipeline.

“The Foundation is honored to have the generous support of our Presenting Sponsor, The Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation and Diamond Sponsors, Cox Enterprises, Rogers Electric, Southern Company, The Coca-Cola Company and Mary Ellen Imlay,” said Daniel J. Shoy Jr., president of the East Lake Foundation. “As a result of this support, more economically-disadvantaged children will be provided a strong foundation for academic success rooted in early language and literacy.”

“Exceptional cannot begin to describe the dedication that Tom, Ann, the entire Cousins family and the East Lake Foundation have given to community revitalization over the past 20 years,” said Penelope McPhee, President, The Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation. “We are so fortunate to learn from the model they have established as we collectively work to make Atlanta better every day.”
